BSNL prepaid services remain affected in North India

Lucknow, June 30 (UNI) The prepaid services of public sector telecom giant Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) was affected in several states in North India, following a damage to the I N Server in Chandigarh.

Talking to UNI here tonight, BSNL Uttar Pradesh (UP) East circle Deputy Genral Manager Mahendra Srivastava said the services remained affected due to an inferno in NTR building, Chandigarh earlier today which damaged the I N Server.

Almost 80 lakh BSNL subscribers faced problems as the outgoing services remained affected in several states, including UP, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.

The incoming services, however, remained unaffected.

The damage resulted in a revenue loss of several crores for the BSNL.

Mr Srivastava said the repair work has gathered pace and the outgoing services would be started soon.
