Bangalore to host India Build International(IBI) 2007
Bangalore, June 30 (UNI) Over 350 companies will participate in the first-ever India Build International (IBI) 2007 to be held here concurrently with the third Structural Engineers World Congress (SEWC) from November three to six.
Talking to newspersons here, SEWC Chairman C S Vishwanatha said the IBI Expo 2007 would showcase the entire gamut of civil engineering products and services, including building materials, construction equipment and technology, electrical, sanitary, plumbing materials, plywood, glass and interiors.
The event would be an opportunity for all top engineering companies in the country to explore business interests in the ever-expanding global construction market.
Dr Vishwanatha also informed that the construction industry in India was vibrant and it was the second largest recipient of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) after China.
He said the construction industry was the second largest segment in the Indian economy with a size of over Rs 600 billion.
The visitors to the event, included the world's leading structural and civil engineers, consulting civil engineers, architects and builders, who would be attending the SEWC 2007.
National Board of Accreditation Ex-Chairman H C Visvesvaraya, who spoke on the occasion, commended the organisers for bringing in the world's mega event on the construction industry to India.
