Zoramthanga assures step towards 'border dispute'
Aizawl, June 29 (UNI) Chief Minister Zoramthanga has assured the Mizo Zirlai Pawl leaders that he will urge the Centre to expedite formation of a commission to solve the 'boundary dispute' between Mizoram and Asom.
State's largest students' organisation the MZP has made the resolutions following its Operation Joshua to the protect the state's 'true' boundary with Asom.
Mr Zoramthanga was quoted saying by official sources that he wanted to set up a delegation team to submit the memorandum to the Centre.
To the second point of the resolutions, Mr Zoramthanga said he would talk to the Home Minister to deploy additional police force in Kolasib, to keep vigil at the border.
He also assured the MZP to take initiatives to reclaim the inner line reserve area from the Cachar forest division, which is the third point of Joshua's resolutions.
