VHP condemns UPA for its "Muslim Appeasement"
Jaipur, June 29 (UNI) The Vishwa Hindu Parishad(VHP) today alleged that the UPA Government at the Centre was wasting funds and putting in peril national security ''for appeasement of Muslim votes''.
The resolution adopted at the two-day meeting of the Hindu outfit's central management committee here today, also alleged that the present government at the Centre had exceeded all limits in ''winning the hearts of the Muslims'' by extending them a number of benefits.
He said the government had showed undue favours in ensuring soft bank loans and different sort of economic benefits in form of subsidy and scholarships to muslim youths.
Despite reports of alleged intrusion of ISI in the country's defence and security services, the ''unmoved government'' was still adamant in giving back door entry to Muslims in the Army and police services, the resolution stated.
The meeting also adopted a resolution to protest against the Communist-led Kerala state government for its reported move of allowing entry to non-Hindus in various Hindu temples and shrines of the state.
The meeting held that the above step of the Communist-led state government tentamounted to ''interference in the internal affairs of Hindu shrines and temples''.
The two-day meeting also adopted a resolution for defending the mythological Ramsetu near Dhanushkotti along Rameshwaram. The resolution said the VHP would launch massive countrywide agitation for defending the Ramsetu, built by Lord Ram, if the government failed to assure the nation for its safety. The programme in this regard would be announced at the Hindu Dharma Sansad to be organised by VHP in New Delhi on July 25 and 26.
VHP General Secretary Dr Pravin Togadia, Vice President Acharya Giriraj Kishore and top VHP leadership participated in the two day meet.
However, the organisation's president Ashok Singhal could not participate in the meeting due to his ill health.
