UT prepares 'action plan' to fight Dengue

Chandigarh, June 29: The Directorate of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme Chandigarh has prepared a long term action plan for prevention and control of Dengue and Chikungunya.

In a meeting, under the Chairmanship of Director Health Services Manjit Singh Bains, the Directorate prepared an Emergency Hospitalisation Plan for the prevention and control of Dengue and Chikungunya in the city.

During the meeting, the detailed hospitalisation plan was discussed with the members for taking timely action and to chalk out the advance preparation for making adequate arrangements required for in-patient hospital facilities.

Decision for providing the adequate lab facilities and making arrangement for whole blood, platelet concentrate and fresh and frozen plasma was also taken in the meeting.

During the meeting it was decided that the female trauma ward at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital in Sector 16 will be converted in to a special ward for accommodating the patients suffering from Dengue and Chikungunya.
