RJD unhappy with treatment meted out by Ibobi

Imphal, Jun 29: The Rashtriya Janata Dal here expressed resentment over Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh's failure to provide ministerial berth to the RJD, which is a constituent partner of the Secular Progressive Front(SPF) government in Manipur.

The SPF government in Manipur has Congress with 31 MLAs, CPI with four MLAs and RJD with three MLAs in the ruling front. The Congress has 11 Cabinet ministers and the CPI has one minister. With the final expansion of the government taking place on Wednesday last all the 12 ministerial quota has been filled up.

Md Hellaluddin Khan, leader of the RJD legislature wing, would be going to New Delhi soon to discuss the issue with the central leaders, RJD leaders said.

The RJD leader further said the Congress party had offered Md Hellaluddin Khan the post of deputy chairman of the state planning board which was rejected.

Mr Ibobi had also been facing internal crisis within the party itself as the Congress President Gaikhangam resigned as minister earlier. Mr Ibobi also said that the number of ministers was limited to 12 in the 60 member House.
