Retd Army Major shoots himself, dies in hospital

New Delhi, Jun 29 (UNI) A 69-year-old retired Army Major allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in R K Puram area of South Delhi this afternoon.

K C Kapoor allegedly shot himself with his licensed revolver at his sector 10, R K Puram residence at about 1300 hrs, said a senior police official.

He was rushed to the Safdarjung Hospital by his wife and admitted to the ICU soon after the incident. However, he died later, said the official.

The official said he was depressed for some time.

Father of two, Kapoor had taken voluntary retirement about 15 years ago.

''The case is being investigated,'' he added.
