Punjab: PPCC President meets Cong Prez Sonia

Chandigarh, June 29: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) President S Shamsher Singh Dullo today met Congress President Sonia Gandhi to apprise her of the political situation of Punjab.

According to an official release, Mr Dullo who met the Congress President at New Delhi, discussed with her the cases of Political "vendetta" of the present Akali-BJP Government and reports of "harassment" of Congress workers. He also handed over the reports of organisational and political activities of the State Congress to Ms Gandhi.

The Congress President directed the PPCC President to draw an action plan in consultation with the leaders and workers of the Party to fight this "vendetta", a party release stated.

In the meeting, Mr Dullo also discussed the coming elections of Corporations and Municipal Councils in the State and assured Ms Gandhi of better performance by the Party in these elections, the release stated.
