Police arrest courier, unearth 8 landmines, 9 detonators
Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, June 29 (UNI) The district police today unearthed eight landmines and nine detonators and seized five arms along with ammunition of various Naxal groups and arrested a courier of Praja Prathighatana and a pseudo naxalite.
Talking to newspersons here, District Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra said special police unearthed eight landmines and nine detonators, planted by the Maoist naxalites, under the road at Kalvapally of Tadvai mandal.
Police recovered a container, which was kept in a agricultural well at Pulukurthy village of Athmakur mandal.
Police also seized one 30 carbine along with 32 live rounds of Janasakthi naxalites, 30 carbine with 12 live rounds and one 3.2 four rounds pistol.
Praja Prathighatana naxal group courier Bandaru Bhadraiah alias Bhaskar was held and police seized one country made revolver, five .22 revolver with live rounds and Rs 4,000 cash from him.
They also arrested one pseudo naxalite R Someshwar Rao and recovered .1 and .303 tamancha with four live rounds.
