Modi laid foundation stone for cement and power plant

Sanghipuram (Kutch), Jun 29 (UNI) Chief Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Sanghi Group's 4.5 million tonnes per annum cement plant and 120 MW thermal power plant here today.

Company sources informed that the new cement plant would be set up with an outlay of Rs 1,000 crore and will commence its production by the year 2009. However thermal power plant to be set up at a cost of Rs 250 crore will commence production in the last quarter of next year.

Sanghi Cement's future vision is to produce more than 20 million tonnes of cement per annum by 2015. In this connection, the first phase of this vision entails increasing the production capacity expansion at its existing Gujarat plant, sources said.
