Left parties to continue their land struggle in AP: CPI
Vijayawada, June 29 (UNI) Communist Party of India(CPI) Andhra Pradesh Unit Secretary K Narayana today said the Left parties, including, CPI and CPI(M) would not stop the ongoing land struggle and would further intensify their agitations in the State.
Addressing the Krishna District 'Bhu Sadassu', organised by Left parties of the district, he said the Congress Goverenment led by Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in the State had been adopting oppressive measures on the Left parties, using police force, to curb their land struggle. Hundreds of party workers were imprisoned, he added.
Mr Narayana said, despite hurdles, the Left parties would continue their agitation, till the fruit reaches the poor and downtrodden.
The Koneru Rangarao' Committee report on land reforms should be implemented soon, he added.
The CPI leader urged the Government to offer the urban lands to the common people at an affordable rate. Dr Reddy's Government, was however, selling the lands at a huge price, he alleged.
