President A P J Abdul Kalam arrives in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 29: President A P J Abdul Kalam arrived in the city by a special aircraft as part a his two-day official visit to Andhra Pradesh tonight.

He was accorded a warm welcome at Begumpet airport by State Governor Rameshwar Thakur, State Major Irrigation Minister P Laxmaiah, BC Welfare Minister Mukesh Goud, BJP State Party President Bandaru Dattraya, State Chief Secreatry J Hari Narayana and DGP M A Basit.

The President drove to Raj Bhavan from the airport where he would stay overnight.

Kalam will inaugurate an international conference on 'high speed tran-satmospheric air and space transportation' and participate in centenary celebrations of Vivek Vardhani Educations Society tomorrow morning.

In the afternoon, he will inaugurate Digital Radiology Centre at ECIL and visit Army College of Dental Sciences, where he would interact with the students and faculty.

He would leave for New Delhi tomorrow evening.
