Hillary Clinton complements Pratibha for her bid for presidency

Jaipur, Jun 29 (UNI) US senator and former first lady Hillary R. Clinton has complimented ruling UPA-Left combine's Presidential nominee, Ms Pratibha Patil, for her bid for the presidency, Mahila Congress President Rita Bahuguna Joshi today said.

Talking to reporters here, Ms Bahuguna said prospects for a first woman president in India had conveyed a very good message globally as dignitaries across the world had acknowledged Ms Patil's bid.

She said former US first lady, Ms Clinton, while addressing a gathering of Indian community in the US two days ago complimented Ms Patil.

'' Hillary Clinton said she was happy that India was going to have its first woman President soon,'' Ms Bahuguna quoted Ms Clinton as saying.

Ms Bahuguna said the entire world was praising UPA Chairperson and Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi for fielding a woman for the presidency while BJP was making personal allegation against Ms Patil.
