HC directs trial court to decide on Santokben's bail
Ahmedabad, Jun 29 (UNI) The Gujarat High Court today directed the Junagadh trial court to decide on the bail application moved by 'Godmother' Santokben Jadeja, who allegedly sheltered two criminals involved in the rape and murder of two teenaged girls of the Koli community.
Justice M R Shah's order cames after the Junagadh trial court held in abeyance the decision on Santokben Jadega's bail plea after the police sought for a narco- analysis test on her. She, however, wanted the high court to order the trial court to resolve the issue by either accepting or rejecting her bail plea instead of keeping the matter pending, subject to completion of the narco analysis test.
Santokben was arrested for allegedly sheltering two suspects, involved in the rape and murder of two Koli girls in Junagadh and believed to be friends of her son Kandhal Jadeja.
Of the two girls who had gone to Datar shrine in Junagadh, one was raped and the other murdered on May 13 by the duo who are absconding.
