Gang rape accused booked for another rape in Buldhana

Nagpur, June 28 (UNI) An accused in a gang rape and murder case who is out on bail, was booked for the alleged rape of another married woman in Buldhana district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

The victim, in her complaint, said Vijay More (30), a resident of Pimpri-Deshmukh in Khamgaon tehsil of the district, raped a married woman in her house in the same village late on Tuesday night. There was no one in the house except her toddler son at the time of the incident, as her husband is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Buldhana, police said today.

Acting on the complaint, which was lodged on the next day, the police registered an offence under section 376 against More, who is absconding since the heinous act.

Incidentally, More is one of the nine persons who were arrested after they allegedly gang-raped and then killed a woman at village Nimgaon in Nandura tehsil of the district on March 14, 2006.

The nine accused were remanded to magisterial custody. The court later released some of them, including More, on bail a few weeks ago.
