Farm women take to squash making in Punjab
Ludhiana, June 29 (UNI) The Punjab Cooperative Department has joined hands with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Patiala to launch a scheme under which farm women are being imparted training in squash making.
The squash in bulk prepared by the these farm women is procured by the Department and marketed under the brand name ''Verka Squash''.
KVK's Deputy Director (Training), Dr P K Sharma today said that women from eleven villages, namely Musalmana, Nirwana, Ghularan, Banera Khurd, Kamaspur, Ranbirpura, Alhaur Kalan, Rasulpur Saidan, Aasse Majra, Ramgarh Farm and Belu Majra, had already been imparted training in this month. Four more villages are yet to be covered under this programme.
