Depression weakens in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, June 29 (UNI) Yesterday's deep depression over coastal Orissa moved north westwards and lay centred about 50 km east of Sambalpur tonight.

Met sources said the system was likely to move in a west north westerly direction and will weak gradually. However, there will be rain and thundershowers at most places over Orissa under its impact in the next 24 hours.

Heavy to very heavy rains are also likely to occur at a few places over Orissa during the next 12 hours, the met office warned.

The authority has already hoisted local cautionary signal number 3 at Gopalpur, Paradeep, Chandbali and Puri ports and advised fishermen not to venture into open sea.
