BJP leaders refute Modhwadia's statement in Pandya murder case
Ahmedabad, June 29 (UNI) Gujarat BJP President Purushottam Rupala and Minister of State for Home Amit Shah today rejected the demand of Arjunbhai Modhwadia, Leader of the Opposition in State assembly for a CBI inquiry and re-investingation of Haren Pandya murder case.
''Modhwadia's statement is baseless and aimed at gaining political mileage out of late Pandya's murder,'' said Mr Rupala, while addressing a press conference here.
''The CBI has been investigating the Pandya murder case from the beginning. The Congress-led UPA government was at the Centre when the CBI began its investigation into the case. So by blaming the CBI for its incomplete investigation, Mr Modhwadia is blaiming his own party,'' said Mr Rupala.
Mr Shah said, ''All the loopholes pointed out by Mr Modhwadia in the investigation were proved baseless by the POTA court,'' adding ''there were scores of Congress politicians killed in the past, inquiry into many of the cases still remain incomplete. Mr Modhwadia should take this fact into account and do some interrospection.'' UNI
