Mumbai, June 29 (UNI) Arguments on an application seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail granted to Haseena Parkar, sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, in an alleged cheating and extortion case, will continue tomorrow.

The Anti-Extortion Cell (CEC) had moved an application seeking the cancellation of the bail, which was granted to Haseena Parkar by the Metropolitan Magistrate Court on May 24 as per the direction of the Sessions Court.

Her Advocate H H Ponda today argued before the City Civil and Session Principal Judge Ashok Bhangale that his client had filed Anticipatory Bail Application (ABA) in the Sessions court and as per the court's order on the aba, she had appeared before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate V K Sharma.

Mr Ponda said Judge Sharma had heard both the applications -- one filed by the prosecution and her bail application -- as per the directive of the Sessions court and then granted bail to Haseena Parker.

He told the court that a forgery case cannot be made against his client as the forged receipt that was submitted by the prosecution was a transaction between estate agent Vinod Avalani and Chandresh Shah in some different matter, and that Ms Parkar was nowhere in the picture.

According to the prosecution, Haseena Parkar had threatened Vinod Avalani and refused to return his Rs 30 lakh, that he had paid to two builders for a slum redevelopment project deal at Wadala here.

However, the deal failed to take off.
