Two foreign soldiers feared killed in Afghan blast
KABUL, June 28 (Reuters) A suicide car bomber hit a vehicle carrying foreign troops in the Afghan capital today and may have killed two soldiers, police officials said.
The Taliban, who are fighting foreign troops and the Afghan government, claimed responsibility for the attack on a road leading east out of the city.
Two soldiers in the vehicle might have been killed in the attack which also wounded several other soldiers and Afghan civilians, said a police official who declined to be identified.
The interior ministry said two people were killed and eight wounded in the attack, but did not identify the victims. It said a vehicle of US-led coalition force was damaged.
Spokesmen for NATO and the US military said they were aware of the blast, which took place on a busy road used daily by foreign troops but could not confirm casualties.
Kabul has witnessed a series of Taliban suicide attacks this year. A suspected Taliban suicide bomber killed more than 20 police in the heart of the city on June 17.
