'The Bong Connection' to release on July 6

Mumbai, June 28 (UNI) Filmmaker Anjan Dutt's first English film 'The Bong Connection' is set for a July 6 release.

Speaking to reporters here today, Anjan described the film as a culture awakening crossover film and connecting to mainstream cinema ''the Bong way.'' The movie stars Shayan Munshi, Raima Sen, Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Peeya Rai Chowdhary.

A warm hearted, hillarious, yet a deeply touching drama, the story revolves around two prime characters, Andy (Shyan Munshi) who is a young, Bengali musician from New York and the Kolkata-based Texas aspirant Apu (Parambrata Chattopadhyay).

Anjan said ''I am embarking on a new journey in life with the Bong Connection. This is an important project for me as this is going to be my first experiment, directing an English language feature film out of the country.'' Anjan has also written lyrics for the film along with Neel Dutt, who is the music director.
