Restructure power sector with professionalism: Khandu
Itanagar, June 28 (UNI): Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has called for restructuring of power sector with corporate sector participation to give the desired push to the high potential of hydro-electricity.
Addressing the coordination cum-review-meeting of power engineers at Vidyut Bhawan here yesterday, he highlighted the detailed of prospect for earning royalty revenue, need to check revenue leakage and transmission loss. He also stressed on optimum fund utilization through strict monitoring of division-wise performance including revenue collection to give the required impetus under his guidance, official sources said.
He pointed out that the entire engineering community was blamed because of the habit of misuse of fund by few individuals, the chief minister warned of stern action against head of the divisions and circles for under achievements while directing the higher officials to expedite all central sponsored schemes.
Expressing his displeasure on the unethical practices of some officials for quoting exorbitant rates of materials higher than market in estimates as well as blaming paucity of fund for every shortcoming, he questioned the integrity of engineers preferring divisions to planning branch and conveyed his disapproval against those approaching him through public leaders, sources added.
