Reconsider UPA's Presidential nominee: Advani

Jabalpur, June 28: Senior BJP leader L K Advani today urged the UPA constituents to reconsider its nominee in the Presidential election saying never in the past such serious allegations were levelled against a Presidential candidate.

''The constituents of UPA were urged to change its nominee in view of the allegations against Mrs Pratibha Patil, but it did not happen'', he lamented.

Talking to reporters during a brief halt here enroute to Birsinghpur, where he was to commission the 500 megawatt thermal unit, Mr Advani said the party was giving full attention to the Presidential election and other issues were not being considered at present.

He said the Shiv Sena had already given its clarification on extending support to Mrs Patil's candidature and Sena's relationship with the National Democratic Alliance would be reviewed after the Presidential election.
