P V Narasimha Rao's birth anniversary observed

New Delhi, June 28 (UNI) An all-religion prayer meeting was orgainsed here today to commemorate the 87th birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao.

Leading vocalist of the Banaras and Kirana gharana Pt Chhanulal Mishra led the prayers later at the Andhra Pradesh Bhawan.

People from all walks of life participated in the prayer meeting.

The meeting concluded after observance of a minute's silence in tribute of Rao.

In Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and his cabinet colleagues paid floral tributes to the late Prime Minister at the PV ghat.

Dr Reddy and the Ministers observed a two-minute silence to mark the occasion.

The Chief Minister released a postal stamp in memory of the departed senior Congress leader.
