Nagaland: People remember martyr Kenguruse
Nerhema, June 28: People today remebered Capt Neikezhakuo Kenguruse of Rajputana Rifles on his ninth death anniversary, who laid his life in the Dras sector of Jammu and Kashmir during the Kargil war.
In a function here Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR) Maj Gen K.S.Sethi laid the wreath on the grave of Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, Maha Veer Chakra (MVC), on behalf of the Indian Army.
He said the captain was a great example for the youths of Nagaland to encourage service of the nation through their services in the security forces.
A special battalion called the Naga Regiment has to be raised, Gen Sethi said adding that "Nagas are very good soldiers, especially in the hilly terrain".
Capt Kenguruse also sacrificed his life after he climbed several feet bare foot and through a different route to attack the enemy from their behind destroying the enemy post before he died.
Gen Sethi hoped that more Naga boys would join the Indian Security Forces to show their talents in fighting for the country.
Mr Neusekue Angami, father of martyr Kenguruse also thanked the high officials of the army for remembering his son's contribution to the nation.
