MP Cong welcomes EC recommendation to expel BJP MP
Bhopal, June 28 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh's main opposition Congress today welcomed the Election Commission's recommendation to the President to expel BJP's Khargone MP Krishna Murari Moghe from Parliament in a case relating to his allegedly occupying more than one office of profit.
''I am yet to receive information regarding the Commission's decision,'' Mr Moghe said.
Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Jamuna Devi, who had lodged a complaint to the President -- against Mr Moghe -- under articles 102 and 103 of the Constitution, said in a statement that she learnt through media about the Commission's step and welcomed it. Her complaint had then been forwarded to the Commission, which issued a notice to the MP.
A copy of Mr Moghe's response was sent to Ms Devi who told the Commission that the MP's response made it clear that he was enjoying a Cabinet Minister's rank by virtue of being the Madhya Pradesh Legislature Party leader.
Congress state unit President Subhash Yadav echoed Ms Devi's words.
