Jersey Airtel launches services in Jersey

New Delhi, June 28: Jersey Airtel, a subsidiary of the Bharti group, today launched its mobile services in Jersey (Channel Islands) under Airtel-Vodafone brand.

The company will offer full 2G, 3G and HSDPA-enhanced network to its customers in the island, a statement said here.

''We are delighted at the launch of our services in Jersey.

We are committed to bringing world-class services to customers and adding value to communities and businesses on the island,'' said company's Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer Sunil Bharti Mittal.

Airtel-Vodafone has launched a range of products and services at competitive price plans. The new services include voice mail services allowing voice mail messages to be accessed through a customer's email, missed call alert service, an e-bill service along with a new phone to phone top-up for pre-paid customers.

The HSDPA capability will provide faster data speeds.

The price plans will re-shape boundaries and break barriers.

Calls to key EU and other destinations like Australia and South Africa will be priced at Jersey land line rates. Contract bundles include minutes to all Jersey mobiles and fixed lines, to the UK and Guernsey fixed lines and mobiles.

Customers will also be offered significant discounts if they choose to keep their existing handset.

Two plans have been launched for pre-paid customers, offering flat rates across all networks in Jersey and another rate to all networks across the EU including UK.
