HC asks Mah Govt to file affidavit over J J Hospital's condition

Mumbai, June 28 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed the Maharashtra government to file an affidavit giving all details of emergency services, where operations are conducted, staff position and condition of machineries in all the four hospitals of J J Group of Hospitals in the city.

The court took note of a news item in a city newspaper stating that surgeries were on hold in the four hospitals due to shortage of anaesthetics.

Hearing the suo motu petition, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Swatanter Kumar and Justice S C Dharmadhikari directed the Dean of the J J Group of Hospitals Dr Shangari to remain present on next date of hearing, which is scheduled after two weeks.

Government Pleader K R Belosay informed the court that all the equipment, like MRI and CT scan machines, in the Group's hospitals have been functioning and there are in all 27 anaesthetics available in these hospitals.
