Haryana BSP Gen Secy arrested for Telecom theft
Kurukshetra, June 28 (UNI) Haryana BSP general secretary Dinesh Sharma was sent to the district jail here today after a local court remanded him to judicial custody for a fortnight on the charges of stealing telecom poles.
He was produced before Chief Judicial Magistrate (Vacations) Naresh Kumar Singhal by the CIA staff after inspector Gurdwaya Ram Sharma arrested him on the charge of stealing poles belonging to the Kurukshetra telecom department from the villages of Khanpur Koliana and Mohri, along with another accomplice.
The CIA staff had earlier raided the premises of the accused in Karnal district and recovered 58 such stolen poles from his possession.
According to police, Sharma was named by a youth arrested on the charge of stealing the poles who revealed during interrogation that Dinesh Sharma was the mastermind and the poles were lying at his place.
The police, after raiding the premises also arrested Dinesh Sharma.
Meanwhile, Sharma, while describing his arrest as ''political vendetta'', said he had full faith in the judicial system and would come out innocent.
