Goods train derails in AP
Ananthapur (Andhra Pradesh), June 28: Twelve bogies of a goods train proceeding to Bangalore from Vadi Cement Site, derailed near Koluru on South Central Railway Section, near here, this morning.
Initial reports said Railway officials rushed to the spot for assessment of damages to the track.
Track restoration process was on at war-footing and normal traffic expected to resume by this afternoon, Railway sources said.
The train with 40 rakes was laden with cement when the accident occured.
Train No 2628 New Delhi-Bangalore Express was diverted via Bellary, Train No 538 Hindupur-Guntur Passenger was terminated at Ananthapur while Train No 434 Guntur-Yeshvanthapur Express was terminated at Guntakal.
Bangalore-Gorakhpur holiday special was also diverted via Arakonam, they added.
