Fresh depression likely to bring more rains in AP

Visakhapatnam, June 28 (UNI) A fresh depression formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal off Orissa coast this morning is likely to bring more rain to south coastal and north coastal Andhra Pradesh.

According to Cyclone Warning Centre (CWC) here, the system, centered at 200 km south east of Puri, was likely to further intensify into a deep depression and move in west north direction, crossing Orissa coast between Gopalapur and Paradeep by midnight tonight.

Under its influence, rain or thundershowers were likely at most places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall was likely at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh during the same period.

Strong winds with speed reaching 55 to 65 km/hr was likely along and off north coastal Andhra Pradesh and south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Squally winds with speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph were likely along and off Guntur and Nellore districts during the same period.

As the sea would be very rough, fishermen were advised not to venture into the sea, the CWC added.
