CPI protest against non-sanctioning of educational loans

Chennai, June 28 (UNI) Members of the Chennai District Unit of the Communist Party of India (CPI) today, staged a slogan shouting demonstration against the non-sanctioning of educational loans to the needy students by most of the banks.

Inaugurating the demonstration here , Party's State Executive member V Raj Mohan said despite the Union Finance MInister P Chidambaram's repeated assurance, the bank officials were not sanctioning the loan to the students.

He urged the Union Government to give clear instruction to all he banks and ensure immediate distribution of loans to all those who applied. Otherwise, the party would intensify its stir, he warned.

The party sources said similar demonstrations were held in all the dstrict headquarters in the state.
