Congress MLA son arrested on assault charges

New Delhi, June 28 (UNI) Son of Congress MLA from Sultanpur Majra Jaikishan was today arrested for allegedly assaulting one person after a heated exchange of words in Sultanpuri area of North-West Delhi.

Varun (23), was arrested early morning today from his Sultanpuri residence following a complaint by one Ramdhari with whom he had a quarrel last evening, said a senior police official.

''He was, however, released soon after as it was a bailable offence.'' The MLA's son had reportedly assaulted Ramdhari after he allegedly used abusive language while trying to intervene in a fight between him and his neighbour Gopal last evening, said the officer adding that Varun knew both the parties.
