Conduct raids against black marketeers: AP CM

Hyderabad, June 28 (UNI) In an effort to bring down the prices of essential commodities, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy today directed the Civil Supplies Department to conduct raids against hoarders and black marketeers.

After a review meeting on the prices of commodities, the Chief Minister asked the department officials to conduct raids on hoarders to bring out all hoarded commodities to the market.

Stating that stringent punishment, including the cancellation of trade licences of hoarders would be taken against the black marketeers, he said the government was playing a major role in checking the prices of essential commodities by curbing malpractices and hoarding.

Observing that the national price index has indicated that all the prices in the state were ruling lowest compared to other states, the Chief Minister said this year also paddy would be procured from women Self Help Groups.
