BJP releases booklet listing charges against Patil

New Delhi, June 28: The BJP today released a 24-page booklet against UPA-Left Presidential nominee Pratibha Patil, highlighting the alleged financial irregularities by her in a cooperative bank that had been set up in her name and shielding her brother against murder charges.

The booklet, containing the investigative articles by former union minister and Rajya Sabha member Arun Shourie about these two cases, was circulated among BJP leaders at the party meeting.

The book titled-- 'Does this tainted person deserves to be President of India'-- features Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Ms Patil on the cover page.

''We want the people of the country to know the murky past of Ms Patil, who would become the President if she wins the Presidential race,'' says the book.

Giving out details about the misappropriation in the cooperative bank case, the booklet lists out the recipients, all of whom happen to be close relatives of Ms Patil.

Mr Shourie also investigated about the murder of Congress leader from Jalgaon (Maharashtra) V Patil in September 2005.

The booklet also gives out evidences and proofs to substantiate its content, an informed BJP leader said.
