BJP MLA threatens hunger strike over water
New Delhi, Jun 28 (UNI) BJP MLA K S Tanwar today threatened to sit on a fast unto death in front of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's residence demanding release of water for his constituency.
Speaking to mediapersons here, he accused the Chief Minister of keeping water taps in the Delhi Cantonment area dry.
When the MLA had last threatened to sit on a hunger strike six months ago, Ms Dikshit had asked him to wait till completion of the Sonia Vihar plant. However, completetion of the plant has not changed the situation, Mr Tanwar alleged.
''I am back to square one, left high and dry. Ms Dikshit has turned water into a political instrument,'' he said.
The MLA claimed that water supply to his constituency had been deliberately stopped to avenge electoral defeat in the last assembly polls.
