'Alliance not to break; Sena's decision unfortunate'
Mumbai, Jun 28: Former union petroleum minister Ram Naik today said Sena's support to UPA's presidential nominee Dr Pratibha Patil was 'unfortunate' but said it would not affect its 23-year-old alliance with the BJP. Talking to reporters, Mr Naik said BJP leaders had made their stand clear on that issue.
Asked whether Sena has become a liability to BJP, Mr Naik said ''We both are assets for each other.'' ''Voters should vote by their conscious,'' Mr Naik said recalling the statement made by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1969 when official Congress candidate Dr Neelam Sanviva Reddy lost to Independent V V Giri.
