Acer launches Aspire, TravelMate notebooks at Rs 69,999

New Delhi, Jun 28 (UNI) World's third largest PC vendor Acer India today launched two distinctive notebooks -- 'Aspire Gemstone Series' for personal use and 'TravelMate Profile Series' for the commercial market priced between Rs 59,999 and Rs 69,999.

The Aspire notebooks will offer the world's first dolby home theatre for virtual surround sound.

''The company has tailored the notebook design and functionality for consumer and commercial market needs,'' Acer India Pvt Ltd General Manager (Marketing and Sales) S Rajendran said.

The Aspire brand characterises fun while the TravelMate focuses on dependability for the mobile user, he added.

The Aspire Gemstone Series is available in two models with 15.4 inch wide screen, two GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, built-in camera, blue tooth, eight cell battery, Vista Ultimate Operating System (OS) and Vista Home Premium OS priced at Rs 69,999 and Rs 64,999.

TravelMate Profile Series are available in two models at the cost of Rs 59,999 and Rs 69,999 in two sizes-14.1 inch and 12.1 inch with one GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, blue tooth, built-in camera, Vista Business OS.

''This series targets the education institutions, e-governance, banking and financial institutions, small and medium enterprises,'' company Managing Director W S Mukund said.

The company's revenue stood at Rs 869 crore during the last fiscal in the country and expects the figure to touch Rs 1,100 crore this fiscal, he added.

The notebooks will be available in the market through 250 retail outlets spread across the country and other distributors such as Croma, Reliance, E-zones and Metro.

The 11.31 billion dollar company, Acer Worldwide is planning to aggressively expand market share for desktops and aims to increase its footprints in the US and China.
