Woman hangs self due to dowry harassment

New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) A 23-year-old housewife hanged herself in Uttam Nagar area of West Delhi allegedly due to dowry harassment.

Saraswati, married two years back to Parmeshwar (27) who works in a factory, hanged herself last night at her Mohan Garden residence, police said which adding that due to injury marks on the body 'foul play' could not be ruled out.

Parents of the deceased alleged that she was regularly harassed for dowry by her husband and in-laws.

The body has been sent for postmortem and an SDM inquiry ordered.

The couple has a one-year-old daughter.
