Two children die after falling in pit

New Delhi, Jun 27 (UNI) Two children died after they fell into a sewage pit, while playing near it, in Kalyanpuri area of East Delhi.

While Sonu (12) died on way to hospital yesterday evening after being rescued by labourers working at the Fruit, Vegetable and Grain Market site, being developed by the Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board in Ghazipur village, the body of Vipin (9) was fished today, according to sources.

Vipin got drowned while trying to rescue Sonu who slipped in the 25-feet deep pit at about 1730 hrs yesterday. Both were playing nearby.

The incident was reported by another child to Sonu's mother who got her son rescued with the help of those working at the under-construction market site.

The pit was the dumping groud of all drainage and sewer water of the closeby Ghazipur village.
