Trucks set ablaze during Kamtapur bandh

Kokrajhar, Jun 27 (UNI) Life was affectd and sporadic violence reported during the 24-hour Kamtapur area bandh, which began at 0500 hours today in lower Asom.

The bandh was called by the All Koch-Rajbonshi Students' Union and supported by Kamtapur Progressive Party and Greater Cooch Behar Democratic Party.

Police informed that five trucks were set ablaze on the national highway in Bongaigaon. Altogether 100 picketers were also arrested during the bandh period from various places.

Other sporadic incidents, like pelting of stones, were also reported from many places, police added.
