Tripura ADC demands1.29 Cr. for indigenous tribes

Agartala, June 27: Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has submitted a proposal of Rs 1.29 crore to the state government for development of indigenous tribal people.

Official sources here today said that about 7500 students belong to most backward tribes would be given educational support under the project while another 2000 families would be provided essential house holds.

Apart from that, ADC administration has proposed to set up a coaching centre for primary students for eight months in a year.

Meanwhile, indigenous tribal families would be supported for promoting economic activities including agriculture, fishery, education and health, sources added.
