3 more nominations for Presidential poll filed

New Delhi, June 27: Three sets of nomination papers were filed today for the forthcoming July 19 Presidential elections, taking the total number to 31.

The nominations that were filed today were of Batan Lal Ahirwar of Bhopal, Mohan Lal Mahajan of Delhi and Ram Kumar Shukla of Lucknow.

All contained the certified copies of the electoral rolls bearing their names, but did not bear the required signatures of any proposer or seconders, and only Mr Shukla deposited the required security deposit of Rs 15,000.

He had earlier filed his nomination on June 19 -- the opening day of the process -- but had not deposited the security money then.
