TCS-IIT Bombay tie up for setting up "PowerAnser Labs"
Kolkata, Jun 27(UNI) Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services firm, has tied up with the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay, for setting up "PowerAnser Labs (PAL).
''The Indian power sector is suffering due to the imbalance between supply and demand coupled with the paucity of tools to analyse the interconnected power system grid,'' TCS Chief Technology Officer K Ananth Krishnan said.
The lab would use technology to deliver online network analysis and decision support tools to help power utilities and grid operators.
A company release today said the lab would create and maintain the network data in such a way that the end user would only logon online from anywhere and run various scenarios on the grid data.
