South Eastern Railway train services disrupted

Kolkata, Jun 27 (UNI) South Eastern Railway train services have been disrupted as Maoist activists set a fire on panel board of Biramdih station on Purulia-Chandil section in Adra division at 0220 hours today.

In its wake, the connection of overhead electric wire was off between Nimdih and Urma station and both up and down lines were suspended from 0230 hours.

Following this, a number of mail and express trains have been diverted or short terminated.

2820 Orissa Sampark Kanti Express has run via diverted route Adra-Midnapore-Kharagpur-Bhadrak and will be short terminated at Anara. As a result, the train remains cancelled between Anara-Tata and Kharagpur.

3288 Danapur-Tatanagar-Durg South Bihar Express has run via diverted route Adra-Midnapore-Kharagpur-Tatanagar. As a result, the train remains cancelled between Adra and Tatanagar.

2801 Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express has run via diverted route Chandi-Purulia-Kotshila-Bokaro-Tupkathi. As a result, the train remains cancelled between Chandil-Purulia-Kotshila.

5629 Chennai-Guwahati Express and 8183 Tatanagar-Danapur Express have run via diverted route Chandil-Muri-Kotsila-Purulia.

3301 Dhanbad-Tatanagar-Subarnarekha Express has been short terminated at Purulia and 3302 Tatanagar-Dhanbad Subarnarekha Express ran from Purulia to Dhanbad. As a result, the 3301 and 3302 remain cancelled between Purulia -Tatanagar-Purulia.

8182 Chapra-Tatanagar Express has run via diverted route Adra-Purulia-Kotshila-Muri-Chandil Tata.

8452 Puri-Hatia-Tapaswini detained at Bano from 1035 hours to 1640 hours, 8451 Hatia-Puri-Tapaswini Express has been rescheduled from Hatia at 2200 hours instead of 1615 hours.

These apart, a number of passenger trains suffered detention were short terminated or diverted at different stations enroute.

1JH-Jharsuguda-Hatia passenger terminated at Balagana and 1JH Hatia-Jharsuguda passenger terminated at Balasiring.

3351 Dhanbad-Alleppey Express was detained about 60 minutes in section.

On the other hand, one bomb was found between Biramdih and Barabhum level crossing gate on Purulia-Chandil station in Adra division this morning. Bomb squad from Howrah rushed to the spot.

The bomb was defused by the Squad at 1545 hours and the normal train services resumed from 1600 hours.
