Rival SC groups protest over Categorisation

Tirupati, June 27(UNI) Tension prevailed when the warring Mala and Madiga activists shouted slogans against each other over the Scheduled Castes Categorisation by the National Commission for Categorisation of Scheduled Castes on Rayalaseema region in its public hearing at S V University here today.

The Commission's proceedings was disrupted for about 30 minutes The Commission Directors T C Joshi and M Rajendran gave a patient hearing to the representatives of both the groups and received their petitions.

Security had been tightened in view of the incident.
