Rank list of MBBS/BDS courses released
Chennai, June 27 (UNI) The selection committee at the Directorate of Tamil Nadu Medical Education today released the rank list of candidates who had applied for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in government medical colleges in the state.
An official release here said that counselling would be conducted in the office of Directorate of Medical Education here and the counselling schedule will be announced later.
Individual call-letters would be sent to eligible candidates and counselling schedule would be also available on the official website www.tnhealth.org, the release said.
Seven students, including three girls topped the list, scoring 200 marks out of 200. In all, 12,954 applications were received for general category and 350 for special category, of which 912 were rejected for various reasons.
Out of the applications, 41.02 per cent belonged to the Backward Classes, 18.38 per cent Most Backward Classes, 29.84 Scheduled Caste, 1.11 per cent Scheduled Tribe and 9.65 per cent other communities. the release said.
Health Minister K K S S R Ramachandran, who released the list, said the cut off mark for other communities was fixed at 197 followed by 194.5 for BCs, 191.75 for MBCs, 187.25 for SCs and 179 for STs.
