Prez writes to Bhopal-based writer

Bhopal, June 27 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam has thanked city-based writer and retired Prof Shafiqa Farhat for sending him a copy of her book 'Chehre Jane Anjane' published by Madhya Pradesh's Urdu Academy.

''I have gone through the book and the beautiful profiles of various personalities which you have included in your book,'' Dr Kalam said in a letter dated June 18, 2007.

''I have profiled personalities ranging from India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar, all of whom I had the pleasure of meeting,'' the 75-year-old, who retired as Urdu professor from the local Hamidia College, told UNI
