Police open fire on 3-member gang
Bangalore, Jun 27 (UNI) Police opened fire on a three-member gang of robbers which was involved in robbing a petrol bunk on the outskirts of the city.
Acting on information, police spotted the dacoits hiding in a vehicle near Subramanyapura on Monday.
When they were challenged by the police, one of them attacked with a sword. In retaliation, police opened fire injuring one in the leg and apprehended two others. A policeman was also injured.
City Police Commissioner N Achutha Rao who visited the hospital said the robbers were known history-sheeters and were involved in the petrol bunk heist.
They were allegedly involved in three such incidents during the last two months.
