Playboy to open entertainment spot in Macau
HONG KONG, June 27 (Reuters) Playboy Enterprises Inc founded by flamboyant publisher Hugh Hefner, will open a Playboy-inspired entertainment centre in Macau in late 2009, its partner Macao Studio City said today.
The 40,000-square-foot ''Playboy Mansion Macao'' will include numerous nightlife and entertainment options, dining, specialty retail elements and a Hugh Hefner Villa, which will be a part of the Macao Studio City complex, it said in a statement.
Macao Studio City, an integrated leisure resort property in the former Portuguese colony that broke ground earlier this year, is a joint venture between New Cotai LLC and eSun Holdings' unit East Asia Satellite Television Holdings.
East Asia Satellite is 66.7 per cent-owned by eSun and 33.3 per cent-owned by Singapore's CapitaLand.
Playboy opened a club at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas last October and had said it hoped to open similar themed venues in London and Macau.
